Adrien Jaulmes was born in 1970 in Albertville, France. After graduating from the Institut d’Études Politiques in Lyon, he joined the French Army as a lieutenant and platoon commander in the Foreign Legion Parachute Regiment. He started his career in journalism in 2000, when he joined the foreign desk of Le Figaro. Since then, he has extensively covered the Middle East, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel and the Palestinian territories, as well as war in Lebanon and the uprisings in Egypt, Libya and Syria. He was awarded the Prix Albert Londres (2002) and the Bayeux Award for War Correspondents (2007). He is the author of Amerak (Editions des Equateurs, 2009), a book about the american war en Iraq.
