Gary Knight. b. England, 1964. Knight went to live in South East Asia in 1988 and started his life as a photographer their covering the wars in Cambodia and Burma. He left to cover the war in Bosnia in 1992 and continued to work in former Yugoslavia continually until the end of the war in Kosovo in 1999. He has photographed many wars between then and now in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East but has not photographed violence since covering the invasion and occupation of Iraq. His principle interest rests in photographing and studying Asia. Knight founded the VII Photo Agency and the Program for Narrative & Documentary Practice at Tufts University where he teaches every spring.
