Katia Jarjoura

Filmmaker

Katia Jarjoura is a Lebanese-Canadian filmmaker who directed several documentaries in the Middle East (Goodbye Mubarak!, The Road to Kerbala, Caught in Between) which were screened worldwide and broadcast on various international channels. Her work focuses on war torn countries (Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon) where she portrays people caught in the midst of political turmoil. Katia is also a fiction screenwriter. In 2009, she directed her first short film, In their Blood, which won the France 2 award at the Brest film festival. She is now developing her first feature film, Days of Tyranny (working title), a French-Canadian production, which is set in Iraq during Saddam Hussein dictatorship.
